A lecturer in the College of Pharmacy has chosen within the Master’s thesis discussion committee in the College of Science.
The lecturer in the College of Pharmacy (assist.prof. Jalal Hassan Abu Taheen) was chosen as a member of the discussion committee for a master’s thesis in the College of Science at the University of Karbala.
The thesis presented by the student (Seif El-Din Fahim) discussed the study of preparation and diagnosis of imidazole dye derivatives and their application in dye-stimulated solar cells.
The study aimed to prepare six new imidazole derivatives designed according to (D-A-π) engineering by using them as dyes in dye-stimulated solar cells as well as to diagnose the prepared distances using IHNMR, FTIR, 13CNMR, Mass spectroscopy techniques and to verify the efficiency of these dyes by applying them in cells solar stimulus.
The study concluded that a series of six organic dyes based on an imidazole ring were designed and synthesized as donor, bridge, and receptor groups for application in dye-stimulated solar cells.
As well as verifying the efficiency of solar cells using different types of aggregates compensated on the imidazole ring.
