University of Kerbala occupies an Outstanding position among (126 ) Iraqi Universities and Colleges in Webometrics Classification

University of Kerbala has achieved a competitive position in Webometrics global classification in its second edition of 2024.
The results of classification (www.webometrics.info/en/Asia/Iraq)  show that thirty thousand university institutions around the world competed according to indicators that measure virtual presence of universities through their websites and indicating percentage of clarity (50%), transparency (10%) , strength and excellence of research (40).
The current version displays a rise in index of Iraqi universities compared to previous one. University of Kerbala has the rank (17) locally out of (126) Iraqi universities. The “Webometrics Ranking of World Universities” is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain.
It is worth noting that Iraq has the first rank in Arab world and seventh globally in Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2024 in terms of number of universities participating in 2024 edition, while Iraqi universities and colleges recorded their increasing competition in other global rankings, including Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects of 2023, in which University of Baghdad appeared in specialization of (Dentistry & Oral Sciences), (QS) ranking, in whose 2025 edition there are five Iraqi universities, (Scimago) ranking, in which there are forty-seven institutions, (Greenmetric) ranking, in which the number of Iraqi educational institutions increased to seventy-four universities and colleges, and RUR ranking, in which there are forty-five Iraqi universities
