Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Approves a Textbook from University of Kerbala as a Curriculum for Iraqi Islamic Sciences Colleges
Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Service / Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has approved the textbook which is entitled “Comparative Literature – Approach and Procedure” by Prof. Dr. Hazim Faddil Al-Baraz, Arabic Language Department / College of Islamic Sciences / University of Kerbala, as a basic curriculum for Iraqi Islamic sciences colleges.
The book, which is issued by Academic Book Center in Amman, aims at focusing on the important role of civilizational dialogue between different peoples, which reduces chances of civilizational conflict and its repercussions, and contributes to influence elements of human personality and society.
The book, which is 633 pages long, consists of two chapters. The first is etitled ( Mutual Influences Between Nations, Religious Text and Poetry as a Model), while the second one is ( Mutual Influences Between Nations and Other Literary Genres as a Model).
The textbook is considered the only study in Iraq in particular and Arab world in general that deals with theoretical level in some detail and applied level that included most of literary genres, including Qur’an, ancient and modern poetry, stories, novels, plays, and autobiography.
