During participating in the activities of the 68th International Atomic Energy Agency Conference, the Head of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission and His Excellency,  of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi signed a technical cooperation agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency for the 

years 2024-2029.

Dr. Al-Aboudi reviewed that the agreement was signed by the Head of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi and Head of the Technical Cooperation Department at the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mr. Hua Liu included many aspects related to the use of atoms for peace in the fields of nuclear medicine, agriculture, food security, energy production, radioactive waste management, liquidation of nuclear facilities and other scientifically related axes to the peaceful and safe uses of nuclear technology.

His Excellency stressed Iraq and its institutions’ keenness on developing and strengthening the contexts of understanding and joint coordination with the International Agency in specialized scientific fields

For his part, Mr. Hua Liu expressed the Agency’s commitment on providing the necessary support in the field of joint cooperation.
