A Thesis at the University of Kerbala Discusses the Evaluation of Premarital Screening Tests
A master’s thesis at the College of Medicine, University of Kerbala, examined the evaluation of the premarital screening program in Kerbala Province.
The thesis, presented by researcher Somaiya Ali Hussein and titled “Evaluation of the Premarital Screening Program in Kerbala Province,” aimed to assess the program’s ability to detect carriers of genetic diseases such as thalassemia and sickle cell anemia, as well as a number of communicable diseases.
The study revealed no gender differences in relation to certain diseases, such as thalassemia and sickle cell anemia, while there were variations between genders concerning syphilis and various types of hepatitis.
