University of Kerbala Launches Global Entrepreneurship Week Activities

The Technology Incubator Division at the University of Kerbala launched the activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week with the participation of various university colleges.

The event, sponsored by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and supervised by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, involved the presence of administrative and academic leaders, including the Vice Presidents for Administrative and Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Jassim Al-Buraq and Prof. Dr. Haider Omran, alongside deans, faculty members, and students.

Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, President of the University, described the event as a remarkable occasion that embodies the collective vision of empowering creativity, fostering innovation, and turning ideas into tangible outcomes that benefit communities and contribute to a promising knowledge-driven future. He emphasized that entrepreneurship is not merely a job or an economic venture but a transformative path driving development toward a brighter future.

He further stated, “Through this week, the university aims to empower our youth with knowledge, inspire them with exemplary stories, and encourage them to turn their ambitions into reality.”

Assistant Lecturer Ali Muslim, Head of the Technology Incubator Division, highlighted the division’s role in implementing the week’s activities in collaboration with university colleges. He mentioned that the week features more than 100 events, including workshops, training courses, discussion panels, scientific lectures, and success stories of students and faculty members. Additionally, a hackathon for software developers is being organized by the College of Computer Science and Information Technology.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is an annual event celebrated in countries worldwide. It involves activities, competitions, and events designed to inspire students to explore their potential as entrepreneurs, exchange scientific knowledge and experiences, enhance academic skills, and encourage university students to innovate and engage in entrepreneurship.
