Iraq Tops the List of Countries with the Highest Number of Universities Ranked in the Times Arab University Rankings

Forty-five Iraqi universities have achieved positive results in the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2024, placing among the best universities in the Arab region.

The rankings featured 238 institutions from 16 countries competing based on indicators distributed across key areas:
Teaching (31%)
Research Environment (31%)
Research Quality Outputs (24%)
International Outlook (8%)
Societal Impact (6%)

The University of Baghdad advanced 20 places compared to last year’s edition, ranking 20th. Other prominent Iraqi universities include the University of Technology, Al-Mustansiriya, Mosul, Al-Nahrain, Anbar, Babylon, Basrah, Al-Maarif, Tikrit, Iraqia, Al-Mustaqbal, Al-Qadisiyah, Diyala, Kerbala, the Islamic University, Al-Ain, Al-Qasim Green, Dhi Qar, Warith Al-Anbiyaa, Wasit, Al-Esraa, Al-Farahidi, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical, Al-Muthanna, Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq, Middle Technical University, Northern Technical University, Southern Technical University, Kirkuk, Maysan, and universities in the Kurdistan Region.
