College of Pharmacy at Kerbala University Conducts OSCE Exam for Fourth-Year Students
The Clinical Pharmacy Department at the College of Pharmacy, Kerbala University, conducted the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) for fourth-year students in the practical clinical pharmacy course. This exam is one of the modern methods in medical sciences, focusing on assessing students’ practical skills, including patient communication and clinical examination, rather than solely their theoretical knowledge.
The exam consists of multiple stations simulating clinical settings in hospitals. At each station, a faculty member poses questions about specific medical cases and evaluates students’ responses using specially designed evaluation forms.
During the exam, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Rasool Al-Hasnawi, visited the examination hall. He reviewed the exam process and commended the efforts of the faculty members in preparing realistic clinical stations that enhance students’ practical skills.
The exam aims to enhance students’ academic and professional levels in clinical pharmacy and improve their ability to communicate effectively with patients in a real-world environment.
In this context, the Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department, Professor Dr. Athir Majid Rasheed, stated that such exams help students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to interact with patients. This, in turn, qualifies them to join medical teams efficiently after graduation and provide top-quality pharmaceutical and therapeutic services.
