University of Kerbala Organizes a Training Course on the Optical Properties of Materials
The Department of Physics at the College of Science, University of Kerbala, organized a training course on the physical parameters related to the optical properties of materials.
The course aimed to familiarize participants with the parameters resulting from the interaction of light with materials, such as the optical energy gap and refractive index, and how to calculate them using Excel software.
The course also included an explanation of the use of optical spectrometers, a comparison between their types, the wavelength range of each, and a review of their practical applications in scientific research.
It is noteworthy that physical parameters include various optical properties, such as the refractive index, absorptivity, transparency, dispersion, reflectivity, spectral absorptivity, colorimetric properties, the photovoltaic effect, polarization, and more.
