Faculty Member from the College of Pharmacy Participates in a Master’s Thesis Defense at the University of Baghdad

Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Jasim Jawad, a faculty member at the College of Pharmacy, University of Karbala, participated as a committee member in the defense of a Master’s thesis at the University of Baghdad.

The thesis, titled:
“The Role of Alcoholic Extract of Cardamom Seeds in Alleviating the Effects of Fluoxetine on Cardiac Function and Genetic Cellular Effects in Induced Obese Rats”, was presented by Ms. Amina Sabah Amouri in the field of Pharmacology and Toxicology.

The study explored the protective effects of the plant extract against damage caused by fluoxetine, a medication commonly used to treat depression, and its potential impacts on cardiac function and genetic material in an animal model.

This academic activity is part of the ongoing efforts of the faculty members at the College of Pharmacy, University of Karbala, to support scientific research and strengthen collaboration between Iraqi universities.
