Minister of Education Chairs Advisory Council Meeting and Reveals Project to Send Talented Students Abroad

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, chaired a meeting of the advisory council to discuss a range of decisions and actions related to university affairs under Article 6 of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Law.

The Minister explained that the Ministry has prioritized diversifying specializations and fields, fostering academic programs, and ensuring the success of its institutions. He revealed that the Ministry has decided to establish a model college for exceptional students starting from the next academic year, and is currently working on a project to send talented students abroad to global universities in various fields that meet Iraq’s development needs.

The attendees discussed the Ministry’s steps in laying the foundation for the Central Laboratories Project and several proposals highlighting the importance of technical education, the development of undergraduate and graduate programs, research and training centers in universities, the quality of scientific research, and global university rankings.
