University of Kerbala Organizes Awareness Seminar on Cyber Extortion

The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Kerbala organized an awareness seminar titled “Cyber Extortion: Causes, Solutions, and Treatments,” presented by Ms. Bashayer Sabah Mahdi.

The seminar addressed the definition of cyber extortion and its causes, including the misuse of modern technology, illicit relationships, family breakdown, lack of religious awareness, and bad company. It emphasized the importance of family monitoring and awareness regarding the dangers of this phenomenon.

The seminar concluded with a set of solutions and treatments, including refraining from communication with the extorter, verifying email messages, enhancing digital awareness, avoiding sharing personal information with unknown parties, and the importance of immediate communication with relevant security authorities.
