lecturer at the College of Pharmacy, supervisor and member of a master’s thesis at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University entitled “Evaluation of some immunological indicators and polymorphisms of NLRP3 among patients with celiac disease in Kerbala city – Iraq”
The lecturer at the College of Pharmacy (Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abbas Rokan) supervised a master’s thesis in the Department of Pathological Analysis Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies in Kufa, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, the role of genetic polymorphisms and the estimation of immune indicators in patients with celiac disease.
The thesis presented by the student (Zainab Majed Jassim) aims to study and estimate the level of some immune markers (IFN-Gamma, IL_1Beta and IL_10) in the blood serum, find two heteromorphs in the genetic makeup of the NLRP3 gene, and study the relationship between (Single nucleotide polymorphism rs35829419 and IL_1beta). ) for patients with celiac disease The study showed that there were distinct significant differences between the study groups that included patients with celiac disease and the healthy group, as well as the relationship between immune indicators, a relationship with a very large correlation, as well as the relationship between (SNP rs35829419 and IL_1beta), which was considered as an indicator of increased genetic predisposition to contracting celiac disease. Genetic results are new for this disease and for the first time in Iraq.
