Higher Education Announces on Iraqi Universities Compete with
Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on that the Times World Rankings issued the results of its edition of the Young University Rankings 2024, which is fifty years old or less, with the participation of six hundred and seventy-three universities around the world.
Higher Education highlighted that the official ranking’s website reviewed (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2024/young-university-rankings#!/length/25/locations/IRQ/sort_by/rank/sort_order/asc/cols/stats) that Nine Iraqi universities obtained top scores, as the following: University of Technology, which obtained the score (301-350), Al-Nahrain University, which obtained the score (501-600), Al-Qadisiyah University which obtained the score (501-600), Anbar University which obtained the score (501-600), University of Babylon which obtained the score (501-600), Diyala University which obtained the score (501-600), Middle Technical University which obtained the score (601+), University of Karbala which obtained the score (601+) and University of Kufa which obtained the score (601+), while the previous version of the same ranking indicated four universities for 2023.
Higher Education also reviewed that the competing universities are subject to an evaluation based on the performance indicators approved in the ranking of leading international universities (THE World University Rankings) and in light of the weights given to teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.
It is worth to be mentioned that Iraq obtained the 37th score in the world in the Times University Rankings for 2024 by registering Iraqi universities competing in the ranking, which evaluated 2,024 universities from 108 countries around the world.
