His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi said that “On this blessed day 9/16/2024, the academic year 2024/2025 begins in our Iraqi universities, colleges, institutes, departments and sections, which begin to receive one million, three hundred and thirty-two thousand, two hundred and sixteen students (1,332,216) and implement their programs in accordance with the requirements of continuous development in all specializations and fields of medicine, engineering, technology, pure sciences, agriculture, veterinary, administrative, economic, humanities and social sciences”.
Dr. Al-Aboudi added that “In the midst of this responsibility that everyone bears, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research expresses its confidence in achieving the goals of the academic institution and its mission undertaken by university administrations, faculty members and students, and embodying the quality of scientific performance responsible for the efficiency of the educational process, its institutional environment, its programs and its various systems that keep pace with global knowledge changes, respond to the requirements of sustainable development and take into account the needs of society for educational services”.
His Excellency reviewed “While we congratulate and bless our universities, faculty members and beloved students on this occasion, the new academic year coincides with the comprehensive electronic transformation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in managing the work of its institutions and creating one hundred and thirty-six university formations at the level of colleges, institutes, departments and sections to meet the growing demand for university education in Iraq, overcome challenges and establish climates of motivation, innovation and opportunities for success and excellence.
