The College of Pharmacy at the University of Karbala held a seminar titled “The Enigmatic Disease and Its Effects,” attended by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Rasool, the Administrative Affairs Associate Dean, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abbas Rokan, and several faculty members.

The seminar, presented by Assistant Professor Ali Abdulhar Al-Ibrahimi, provided a comprehensive overview of Myofascial Pain Syndrome, commonly referred to as the “enigmatic disease.” The presenter discussed the various methods for diagnosing this syndrome and its diverse causes, such as muscle tension and chronic stress. He also covered the available treatment methods, including pharmaceutical and physical therapy.

Discussions focused on the connection between Myofascial Pain Syndrome and sleep disorders, noting that sleep issues can exacerbate symptoms and intensify pain, necessitating an integrated approach to diagnosis and treatment.
