University of Kerbala Organizes a Scientific Seminar on Reducing Negative Phenomena in Society
The Department of Student Activities at the University of Kerbala organized a seminar on how to reduce negative phenomena in society and raise awareness about the importance of reporting cases of blackmail, in collaboration with the College of Administration and Economics and the Kerbala Police Command.
The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, stated that “adolescents are the most vulnerable group to deviant behaviors, and it is crucial for everyone to play their role in confronting various negative phenomena, especially drugs and electronic blackmail.”
The University President also warned students about falling into the traps set by blackmailers and drug dealers, urging them to remain vigilant and cautious of their deceptive methods, and to report any suspicious activities.
The seminar was attended by the Vice President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Akram Al-Yassiri, as well as deans of colleges, members of the provincial council, security personnel, and tribal leaders.
Dr. Hashem Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, emphasized that “the university consistently strives to play an active role in preserving the community and keeping it away from deviant ideas, behaviors, and trends.”
For his part, Brigadier General Ala’a Al-Hassnawi, Director of the Kerbala Anti-Crime Unit, stressed the importance of raising social awareness about combating blackmail and spreading the message that any case of blackmail should be reported to save potential victims.
