A PhD Thesis at Kerbala University Discusses Civil Liability Arising from Vaccines
A PhD thesis at the College of Law, Kerbala University, discussed the civil liability arising from vaccines—a comparative study—presented by student Iyad Sadiq Muideh.
The study aimed to clarify the legal foundations that ensure victims of vaccine-related harm can obtain compensation for the damages caused by the potential risks of vaccines. It also sought to identify who is responsible for providing compensation.
The thesis concluded that foreign legislations’ conflation of vaccines with the term “medicine” does not reflect an intention to merge these two terms. While both medicines and vaccines are inevitably risky health products of vital importance, the thesis highlighted that there are numerous differences between them across various dimensions.
