Head of Petroleum Engineering Department Collaborates with Russian and Iraqi Researchers on a Publication in an International Journal

Dr. Farhan Lafta Al-Taie, Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, University of Kerbala, collaborated with a research team from Russia and Iraqi researchers to publish a scientific paper on the latest developments in the use and effects of phase-change materials integrated with solar chimneys.

The paper, published in the high-impact Journal of Energy Storage (Clarivate-indexed), aimed to highlight the growing need for sustainable energy solutions in building design. It explored the integration of phase-change materials with solar chimney systems to enhance thermal performance and improve energy efficiency.

The study concluded with several recommendations, including the necessity of conducting further specialized research in this field and the importance of developing smart control systems to optimize performance, paving the way for ideal building designs in this domain.
