At the Inauguration of Al-Ain University Teaching Hospital in Dhi Qar, the Minister of Higher Education Affirms Commitment to Advancing Specialized Services in Iraq’s Medical Colleges

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, inaugurated the Al-Ain University Teaching Hospital at the College of Medicine, Al-Ain University, in Dhi Qar Governorate.

In his speech during the official ceremony, the Minister emphasized that the inauguration of Al-Ain University Teaching Hospital represents a significant addition to Iraq’s medical education environment. It will bolster efforts to develop specialized services in medical colleges and provide the community with the impactful scientific contributions it aspires to. He noted that these initiatives will help address challenges and strengthen the healthcare sector in Iraq.

Dr. Al-Aboudi highlighted that this important achievement is part of the progress made in two years under the Iraqi government and the Ministry of Higher Education. It underscores advancements in internationalizing higher education, aligning academic programs with global developments, ensuring the recognition of Iraqi degrees, achieving international acknowledgment for the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges, improving Iraq’s research output rankings, and attracting international students to Iraqi universities.

The inauguration ceremony included speeches by the President of Al-Ain University and the head of the ministerial committee for inspecting teaching hospitals. Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi toured the hospital’s facilities, inspecting its medical and technical departments, laboratories, outpatient clinics, operating rooms, and educational spaces that provide practical training for students across various medical and health specialties.
