College of Pharmacy Organizes a Discussion Session on Women’s Role in Society
The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy, University of Kerbala, organized a discussion session titled “Labor Law, Social Security in Iraq, and Women’s Role in Society”. The session was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Haifa Rashid Mohsen.
The session addressed various aspects of women’s contributions to society and their multifaceted roles across different fields. Discussions began with an emphasis on the role of women as mothers and caregivers, highlighting the importance of this role in shaping societal values and raising future generations. It also explored women’s participation in economic activities, focusing on how their involvement in the workforce contributes to economic growth and improved living standards.
Additionally, the session covered the social and cultural roles of women, emphasizing their impact on promoting positive cultural values and societal norms. The political and leadership roles of women were also highlighted, with examples of prominent women who have made significant contributions in social, cultural, political, and leadership domains.
The session concluded by shedding light on the increasing integration of women in community development compared to previous years. Statistics and studies were presented to demonstrate the significant progress made in this area.
It is worth noting that the Women’s Affairs Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has recommended organizing seminars and awareness campaigns focusing on women’s issues and societal roles to enhance their contribution and provide the necessary support in various fields.
