President of the University of Kerbala Inaugurates the Department of Travel and Aviation Services at the College of Tourism Sciences

The President of the University of Kerbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, inaugurated the Department of Travel and Aviation Services at the College of Tourism Sciences.

Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali stated, “The opening of this vital department is one of the most important steps in implementing the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to elevate the outcomes of our university.”

He added, “The College of Tourism Sciences is one of the most important colleges at our university and will play a significant role in supplying the labor market with specialized human resources in the field of airport operations, particularly with the upcoming opening of Karbala International Airport, which will require highly skilled and professional personnel.”

For his part, Dr. Salam Al-Asadi, Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, explained that “the Department of Travel and Aviation Services will be a qualitative shift in enhancing the position of the College of Tourism Sciences as a source of knowledge and expertise. It is the culmination of continuous efforts by the college and a strategic vision to keep pace with the developments of the era and meet the needs of the labor market.”

Al-Asadi also pointed out that “the establishment of this department was the result of intensive efforts by experts with significant experience in shaping the general policy for the tourism sector.”

The inauguration event was attended by a number of college deans, department heads, faculty members, staff, and students.
