A doctoral thesis at the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Kerbala titled “The Philosophy of Recommended Rulings in Shia Jurisprudence – An Analytical Study” was discussed, presented by student Mohammed Baqir Ali Hashim Al-Hashimi.

The thesis included four main aspects that form the philosophy of legislating recommended rulings, namely: achieving perfection levels, substitution, compensating for deficiencies in obligatory acts, and the role of recommended acts in protecting obligatory ones. Additionally, it explored the jurisprudential aspect of recommended rulings, studying their topics in the principles of jurisprudence, including discussions on terminology, rational evidence, and weighting of proofs.
