Master’s Thesis at University of Kerbala Discusses Imagery in the Poetry of Mahdi Janah Al-Kadhimi

A master’s thesis at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Kerbala, titled “Imagery in the Poetry of Mahdi Janah Al-Kadhimi,” was presented by student Ali Atiya Ghadb.

The significance of the thesis lies in the importance of the poet Mahdi Janah Al-Kadhimi, who addressed the issue of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), making him one of the foremost poets who wrote about this topic. His poetic output is distinguished by strong expression, cohesive structure, and sincere motivation.

The study consisted of four chapters. The first chapter explored the sources of imagery in Mahdi Janah Al-Kadhimi’s poetry. The second chapter examined the means of forming imagery in his poetry. The third chapter highlighted the types of imagery in his works, while the fourth chapter focused on the functions of imagery.

The study concluded with several important findings, the most prominent of which was that Mahdi Janah Al-Kadhimi, a contemporary Iraqi poet, expressed his deep love for the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). His poetry reflects his sincere emotions and sensitive perception, as the issue of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) was his own, making him a true continuation of the poets who wrote in praise of the family of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family).
