PhD Thesis at the University of Kerbala Discusses the Legal Regulation of Unconventional Trademarks

A PhD thesis at the College of Law, University of Kerbala, titled “The Legal Regulation of Unconventional Trademarks – A Comparative Study,” was presented by Iman Faleh Hadi.

The study aimed to explore the concept of unconventional trademarks, highlighting their characteristics that distinguish them from traditional trademarks. It also sought to examine the legal requirements for these trademarks and the legal procedures related to their registration in comparative legislations.

The study concluded that the reason for the lack of activation in registering unconventional trademarks in Iraq, despite the Iraqi legislator’s recognition of this type of trademark, is the practical difficulties related to their registration. Additionally, unconventional trademarks in all their forms emerged as a result of the evolution of commercial and marketing methods.
