In Support of Environmental Sustainability, a Wide Tree Planting Campaign at the University of Kerbala
The Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Jassim Eidhan Al-Mamouri, along with a committee from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and a number of deans and their assistants, participated in a tree planting campaign on the university campus, coinciding with National Tree Planting Day.
The ongoing tree planting initiative at the University of Kerbala focuses on planting shade trees and both permanent and seasonal ornamental plants using modern irrigation systems. This effort aims to reduce environmental pollution, improve air quality, and minimize the effects of dust and pollutants, while also promoting biodiversity.
This environmental initiative is part of the university’s commitment to enhancing environmental sustainability and increasing green spaces on campus. It aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education’s vision and efforts to adopt and spread the principles of environmental sustainability in universities and expand green areas within them.
