University of Kerbala Organizes a Training Course on Extracting Active Compounds Using a Soxhlet Apparatus
The College of Science at the University of Kerbala organized a specialized training course on the detection and extraction of active compounds using the Soxhlet apparatus, Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), and testing their efficacy against various living organisms.
The course was presented by Dr. Sara Kazem Ibrahim, Dr. Maysaa Taqi Abdul Hassan, Dr. Ahmed Naama Issa, Dr. Suad Turki, and instructor Rana Abdul Hamza Abdul Zahra, and it was held as part of an initiative to enhance trainees’ skills and improve their ability to use modern technologies in the field of biological analysis.
Additionally, the course improved the participants’ capabilities in conducting biological experiments to measure the efficacy of the extracted compounds against a range of living organisms, as well as providing detailed explanations on the operation of the Soxhlet apparatus and practical applications of TLC technology.
