Higher Education reviewed that twenty-two Iraqi universities obtained top scores in the ranking, which demonstrated an increase in the number of Iraqi universities compared to the 2024 edition, which witnessed thirteen universities, making Iraq the twenty-ninth largest in the world in terms of the number of classified Iraqi universities.
Higher Education highlighted that the universities competed in THE according to main criteria based on eighteen indicators to evaluate and measure performance in five areas: teaching (learning environment) by 29.5%, research environment by 29%, research quality by 30%, international outlook by 7.5% and industry income by 4%.
Higher Education also reviewed that The Times Higher Education World University Rankings (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/student/where-to-study/study-in-iraq) highlighted the (Study in Iraq) program to introduce international students to Iraqi universities that are evaluated and compete with educational institutions in the world in terms of their performance in the fields of (teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook).
