A Scientific Lecture for Postgraduate Students on the Dangers of Drugs and Addiction

As part of the Advanced Pharmacology course and in accordance with the postgraduate curriculum, students attended a scientific lecture on the dangers of drugs and addiction. The lecture was delivered by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Rasoul, as part of an effort to enhance students’ knowledge and connect academic content to issues that directly impact the health of individuals and society.

The lecture addressed the fundamental concepts related to substance abuse, the factors leading to drug use, the stages of dependence and addiction, and the resulting health, psychological, and social consequences. Emphasis was placed on the importance of prevention methods and awareness-raising and education as key approaches to reducing this phenomenon.

At the end of the lecture, a discussion session was held, allowing students to ask questions and offer their insights, which contributed to enriching the scientific topics and deepening their understanding
