University of Kerbala Organizes Scientific Lectures as Part of Quranic Week Activities
As part of Quranic Week activities, the College of Education for Humanities at University of Kerbala organized two scientific lectures, reflecting its efforts to promote Quranic culture and strengthen its presence within the academic community.
The college hosted Dr. Haider Al-Shalah from the Scientific Complex for the Holy Quran at the Abbasid Holy Shrine and Head of the Quran Department at the College of Basic Education, University of Babylon. Dr. Al-Shalah delivered a lecture entitled “The Digital Human from a Quranic Perspective.” The lecture covered three main themes: the concept of digitalization in the modern era, its importance in contemporary life, and the most prominent risks and challenges facing humanity amidst rapid digital transformations.
The event also featured a second lecture entitled “Translating the Quran: Challenges and Solutions,” presented by Dr. Azhar Hassan Saloumi and Dr. Wafaa Abbas. The lecture addressed the most prominent challenges facing the translation of the meanings of the Holy Qur’an into other languages, highlighting four main themes related to linguistic, semantic and cultural aspects, while presenting a number of methodological solutions and proposals that contribute to achieving a more accurate and clear translation of the meanings of the Qur’anic text.
