University of Kerbela Hosts Ceremony Honoring Researchers Participating in the Second Karbala Scholars Conference
University of Kerbala hosted a ceremony honoring the members of the committees overseeing the second Kerbala Scholars Conference and the participating researchers.
The conference honored more than 70 researchers whose research addressed diverse economic, developmental, social, and legal topics.
University President Professor Sabah Wajid stated in his address during the ceremony, “This year’s conference represents a prominent scientific and intellectual milestone, striving to solidify the role of knowledge in addressing the challenges facing Kerbala Governorate, particularly in their legal, social, and economic dimensions.”
Wajid added that the conference brings together a select group of scholars, researchers, and specialists to present practical visions that contribute to achieving sustainable development and strengthening social stability.
For his part, Deputy Head of the Provincial Council, lawyer Mahfouz Al-Tamimi, pointed out that this year’s conference was distinguished by expanding its scope to include the humanities, whereas previously it focused solely on applied sciences.
The honoring ceremony was attended by the Vice President of the Karbala Provincial Council, lawyer Mahfouz Al-Tamimi, a group of council members, the university president’s assistants for administrative and scientific affairs, Dr. Jassim Al-Maamouri and Dr. Haider Mohammed, as well as a group of college deans and faculty members.
