University President Receives External Examiner from Kingston University
The President of the University of Kerbala, Professor Sabah Wajid Ali, received Dr. Ali Al-Kinani, an external examiner from Kingston University in the UK, specializing in the PhD in Pharmacy and Drug Delivery. This meeting was part of an evaluation of the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology at the College of Applied Medical Sciences.
During the meeting, they discussed mechanisms for evaluating the academic program according to internationally recognized standards, explored ways to develop curricula to align with labor market demands and enhance the quality of educational outcomes, and reviewed the scientific and laboratory facilities available in the department.
The University President emphasized that this academic engagement with reputable international universities reflects the University of Kerbala’s commitment to internationalizing education and improving its academic rankings. He noted that utilizing international external examiners contributes to ensuring the quality of academic programs and strengthening confidence in their scientific output.
For his part, external examiner Dr. Ali Al-Kinani commended the efforts of the College of Applied Medical Sciences and the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, praising the students’ level and the infrastructure, and emphasizing the importance of continuing to develop academic programs according to international quality standards.
This evaluation comes as part of the efforts of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the University of Karbala, which works to monitor and implement academic accreditation standards and promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across all colleges and academic programs.
