University of Kerbala Organizes a Scientific Seminar on Digital Sleeplessness and its Psychological Causes
The College of Education for Humanities at University of Kerbala organized a scientific seminar on “Digital Sleeplessness: Its Psychological Causes Between Prevention and Treatment.” The seminar featured presentations by Dr. Saad Jawad Al-Jubouri, Dr. Nada Rahim Al-Rikabi, and Dr. Basma Burhan Al-Shafi’i.
The seminar aimed to shed light on the concept of digital sleeplessness in light of rapid technological advancements, where smartphones have become an essential part of daily life, transforming from tools for knowledge and entertainment into a constant source of nighttime interaction via social media.
The seminar included a definition of digital sleeplessness, an explanation of its most prominent academic and behavioral consequences, a discussion of its psychological and social causes, and a presentation of a range of preventative and therapeutic solutions and proposals to help reduce this phenomenon and promote awareness of the importance of balanced use of modern technologies
