The University of Karbala organized a scientific symposium to clarify the mechanism of transferring administrative work from paper to the electronic system, in the presence of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Bassem Khalil Al-Saeedi, his assistant for scientific affairs, Professor Dr. Najm Abdul Hussein, and a number of university teachers and employees.

Professor Dr. Bassem Khalil Al-Saeedi said that the course comes to urge the university’s faculties to introduce modern technological systems into administrative work, as well as creating an integrated electronic database for students, professors, and study subjects.

In his speech, Al-Saeedi called on professors, including deans of colleges and heads of scientific departments, to be tools for the success of this modern experiment, noting at the same time that distinguished colleges in implementing the new system will be honored.

Professor Dr. Najm Abdel Hussein, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, said that the symposium is the first step in implementing the electronic system at the university, pointing out that the university is determined to implement it during the current academic year.

For his part, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Karim Abdul Rahim, Director of the Registration and Student Affairs Department, stated that the symposium aimed to clarify the mechanism of work in the new electronic system, stressing the establishment of workshops and practical courses to enable university staff to work on the system and avoid problems that they may encounter.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research had previously directed the need to move towards electronic governance, due to the facilities it provides in completing official transactions and correspondence.
