University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis on Geographical Characteristics and their Impact on Pollution of River and Drainage Networks

College of Education for Human Sciences / University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “geographical characteristics and their impact on pollution of river and networks and Drainage in Hashimiya district, submitted by Kadhim Neamah Hassan.

The importance of the study lies in significance of water, pollution of which poses risks in various uses (agricultural, industrial, and domestic).

The study aims at determining efficiency of irrigation and drainage projects in Al-Hashimiya District, and studying geographical distribution of pollutants in river networks and drains.

The study concludes that the problem of pollution is one of the main problems that Iraq suffers from, including Hashimiya district.

The study recommends the necessity of adopting policies that would store rainwater, utilize surface water, and regulate river water drainage.
