College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University discussed a master dissertation on the serum level of calprotectin and expression of response to infliximab in rheumatoid arthritis by the postgraduate student, Ms. Hadeer Hamid Jassim.

The dissertation aimed at evaluating the usefulness of the calprotectin serum level as a target for monitoring the development of rheumatoid arthritis and response to infliximab treatment and to verify the existence of a correlation between expression with response to infliximab and disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis patients.

The dissertation demonstrated that the highest age group for rheumatoid arthritis is (36-55), as there was a significant correlation between rheumatoid arthritis and the body mass index for rheumatoid arthritis (p < 0.001) while females were more susceptible than males at a ratio of 3.5:1.
