University of Kerbala Launches Activities of Seventh International Scientific Conference of College of Islamic Sciences

University of Kerbala launches activities of Sayyida Fatimah Al-Zahraa (peace be upon her) International Scientific Conference in its seventh edition, which is organized by International Union of Muslim Women in Iraq in cooperation with College of Islamic Sciences / University of Kerbala.

The conference is under the slogan, “Al-Zahraa is a giver and a source of scholars,” highlighted biography of Sayyida Fatimah Al-Zahraa (peace be upon her) as a model with ideal values for building society and confronting various challenges.

The conference addresses contemporary challenges facing Islamic community through a group of more than 70 research papers that deal with educational, jurisprudential, Qur’anic, philosophical, narrative, and linguistic topics.

The conference activities have been attended by President of University of Kerbala, Prof. Dr. Basim K. Nile and vice President for scientific and administrative affairs, as well as official and religious figures from various Islamic sects.

Prof. Dr. Basim K. Nile stresses the importance of giving Sayyida Fatimah Al-Zahraa (peace be upon her) sufficient space for scientific research, calling for intensification of such scientific activities that contribute to build society through their scientific outputs, hoping that the conference would achieve the goals for which it is organized.

For his part, Dean of College of Islamic Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Al-Taie, explains the importance of women achieving their entitlement to reach various positions based on their important role in building society, which is reflected in many Qur’anic verses.
