University of Kerbala Organizes a Symposium on Harassment Phenomenon

Faculty of Medicine / University of Kerbala has organized a scientific symposium on phenomenon of harassment. It aims at raising awareness of the importance of combating this phenomenon.

The symposium, in which Prof. Dr. Ali Tariq, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Reda, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mai Muhammad Ali , Karar Hussein, and Dr. Muhammad Reda, a psychiatrist, deliver it.

The symposium topics address the concept of harassment, its types and causes, and an explanation of ways to address this phenomenon, in addition to clarify the legal texts that guarantee the victim’s rights and deter the harasser.

The symposium presents a number of recommendations to reduce this phenomenon, including protecting individuals, especially children, spiritually and internally against deviance, preparing awareness and educational programmes targeting various segments, and organizing seminars and workshops to educate the public about how to confront phenomenon of harassment.
