The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects announced the results of its 2023 edition, which showed that the University of Baghdad obtained a competitive position within the specialty (Dentistry & Oral Sciences).

The University of Baghdad registered a leading competitive position (201-300) with its counterparts in the Shanghai Ranking, which provided an academic evaluation of one thousand nine hundred universities from one hundred and four countries around the world.

The results of the 2023 edition classified the competing international universities according to fifty-five subjects in the natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences in light of a number of indicators, including the quality of research, international cooperation, and international awards.
