Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research annaunced that the Iraqi universities obtained important competitive scores in the URAP Global Ranking in its version for 2023/24.

Higher Education said that the official website (https://urapcenter.org/Rankings/2023-2024/World_Ranking_2023-2024) reviewed a ranking of (3000) universities around the world, while eleven Iraqi universities strengthened their scores in the ranking, as the following Universities of Baghdad (1262), Technology (1671), Babylon (2130), Basrah (2164), Mustansiriyah (2249), Al-Mustaqbal (2315), Mosul (2362), Kufa (2523), Al-Qadisiyah (2729), Middle Technical (2761) and Islamic University (2836).

Higher Education highlighted that the URAP Ranking is based on evaluating the academic performance of institutions according to indicators of scientific articles by (21%), citations by (21%), total number of research papers by (10%), total influence of articles by (18%), total influence of citations by (15%) and international cooperation by (15%).

It is worth to be mentioned that Iraq obtained the score 37th worldly after 13 universities achieved competitive scores in The Times Ranking, while Iraqi universities and colleges achieved competition in other global rankings, including the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects for 2023, in which University of Baghdad obtained top score in the specialty (Dentistry & Oral Sciences), (QS) Ranking, in which two universities obtained top score, (Scimago) Ranking, in which forty-seven institutions obtained top score, (Greenmetric) Ranking, in which a number Iraqi educational institutions around seventy-four universities and colleges obtained top score and the RUR Ranking, in which forty five Iraqi universities obtained top score, as well as Webometrics Ranking, in which more than a hundred Iraqi universities and colleges obtained top score.
