The President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Bassem Al-Saeedi, accompanied by his assistant for scientific affairs, Professor Dr. Najm Abdul Hussein, participated in the activities of the first conference of the Industrial Advisory Council in Iraqi Universities 2023, which was hosted by Gilgamesh Private University in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi and a number of university presidents and college deans.

The conference aims to harmonize academic outcomes with labor market requirements, by developing graduates’ skills and placing them in the private and public sectors.

The conference participants pointed to the need to find a balance between the outcomes of the educational process and the requirements of the industrial sector in the country, while calling for building bridges of cooperation between various sectors and activating the role of industrial advisory councils in Iraqi universities.
