University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis on Effects of Genetics Polymorphism of OAT2B1 and CYP2C8 Metabolizing Enzyme on montelukast Therapy Response in Asthma Children

College of Pharmacy / University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled Effects of Genetics Polymorphism of OAT2B1 and CYP2C8 Metabolizing Enzyme on montelukast Therapy Response in Asthma Children.

The thesis, submitted by Hasna’ Haider Muhammad, aims at studying the effect of genetic polymorphisms of OATP2B1 transporter and CYP2C8 enzyme on response of montelukast Therapy.

The study concludes that there are genetic polymorphisms in carrier gene OATP2B1 c.935G>A and gene CYp2C8*1B g.-271C>A in a sample of Iraqi population, and there is a significant association between OATP2B1 c.935G>A polymorphism and montelukast response.
