During World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), Dr. Al-Aboudi

His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi affirmed the commitment of Iraq and its educational institutions to provide full educational opportunities for displaced persons and ensure their rights to sustainable education.

His Excellency reviewed that Iraq and its Governmental institutions, especially the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research are committed to provide care for refugees, displaced persons and immigrants, provide them with full educational opportunities and ensure their constitutional rights to sustainable education.

Dr. Al-Aboudi expressed Iraq’s readiness and preparedness on cooperating with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and UNESCO for the purpose of activating the agreement to recognize qualifications and join signed countries to this international agreement.

His Excellency called on representatives of the countries participating in the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) to cooperate in the field of exchanging scholarships.

Dr. Al-Aboudi confirmed that Iraq has established its pioneering initiative, Study in Iraq, with the aim at attracting international students to Iraqi universities and achieving knowledge and cultural exchange and strengthening academic relations with countries around the world.

It is worth to be mentioned that His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi delivered the official speech as a keynote spokesman during the session on transforming education during emergencies and crises within the activities of the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), held in the Qatari capital, Doha, with attendance of Ministers of Higher Education of the participating countries and representatives of the European Union, UNESCO, World Bank, Asian Development Bank and High Commission for Refugee Affairs.
