The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel Sahib, called for the establishment of the Iraqi-Spanish University. This came by meeting  the Spanish Ambassador, Pedro Martinez, Avial Martin, and they discussed the prospects for academic cooperation between the two countries.

The Minister of Higher Education confirmed that the Iraqi university institutions are working in accordance with the criterion  of global cooperation in the scientific and research fields, expressing his keenness to develop paths of understanding with Spanish universities and to provide a sustainable environment for sober academic cooperation.

The Minister of Education called for the establishment of the Iraqi-Spanish University and a tendency towards attracting and exchanging students, lecturers  and researchers, and employing experiences that serve the requirements of comprehensive development on the economic, industrial and educational levels.
