The College of Pharmacy at the University of Karbala organized a workshop entitled Thedangers of smoking in society, between causes and treatments, with the participation of second-year students.

The workshop, which was lectured by Professor Dr. Hadeel Khalaf Muhammad and Assistant Lecturer Hoda Hassan Attia, aimed to educate students about the negative impact of smoking and shed light on ways to quit smoking.

The workshop, in which Professor Dr. Hadeel Khalaf Muhammad and Assistant Lecturer Hoda Hassan Attia lectured, included an introductory presentation about the parts of cigarettes and the nature of the substances it contains based on the concentration of nicotine contained in it, and a detailed explanation of its harm to the health of the individual and its harm to the family as well through its effect on the nervous system, fertility, and premature birth. And on the heart and blood vessels.

The workshop addressed the warning of the danger of addiction to it, and also touched on awareness and health education to abstain from it. From the legal aspect, the lecture in the workshop explained the penalties resulting from breaking the laws prohibiting smoking in public places.
