Representing the Prime Minister .. the Minister of Higher Education participates in the central ceremony on the occasion of the Political Prisoner’s Day and inaugurates the new building of the Prisoners’ Institution.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, representing the Prime Minister, participated in the central ceremony on the occasion of the Political Prisoner Day, which was held by the Foundation for Political Prisoners and the opening of its new headquarters.

In his speech during the central opening ceremony, the Minister of Education confirmed that the ministries of the Iraqi state, especially higher education and scientific research, are committed to caring for the rights of this segment in accordance with the laws and legislation in force in order to achieve the goals of justice and to bridge continuous integration with the specialized institutions to draw a map of implementation and follow-up and to enable these sacrificers to ascend their academic ambitions. Education platforms and the development of their abilities and skills in all disciplines.

He explained that this celebration is an important occasion to remind the rights of political prisoners who sacrificed their freedom and many years of their lives and suffered under systems of torture and abuse in order to restore life to society, and in order to achieve peace and harmony for Iraqis of all colors and diversity.

For his part, the head of the Iraqi Prisoners Foundation, Dr. Hussein Al-Sultani, delivered a speech in which he affirmed the institution’s keenness to revive its annual events to commemorate the sacrifices made by the prisoners and to confirm the preservation of their rights and principles.

In the same context, the representative of the Prime Minister, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, in the presence of a number of ministers and dignitaries, inaugurated the new building of the Foundation’s headquarters, and they looked at its halls, sections, and people.
